Promoting a Resilient, Innovative and Equitable Food System in Malawi

Kusamala launched of a new project called “Promoting a Resilient, Innovative and Equitable Food System in Malawi.

This is a 3-year project funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) and it will be implemented in partnership with Save the Children Italy, Save the Children Malawi, Total Land Care, Kusamala, and Irritec (Italy) who will work directly in Traditional Authorities of Kuntumanje and Malemia, Zomba District.

The goal of the project is to significantly contribute to food and nutrition security for vulnerable households in Zomba by 2028.

To achieve this, the project will focus on three core pillars:
* Promoting Sustainable Farming: Promoting the adoption of agroecology and permaculture practices while strengthening natural resource management.
* Building Resilient Livelihoods: Strengthening and diversifying income sources for families to better withstand economic and climatic shocks.
* Improving Market Access: Enhancing communities’ access to markets, quality inputs, and financial services.
